All about Eva: Kildare County Council

Eva, a resilient and alluring young jockey, infiltrates the stables of Pope Healy, a wealthy racing magnate. Determined to get revenge on behalf of her late father, her plan is thrown into chaos when she falls for Pope’s wayward son. Is Eva ruthless enough to kill Pope and bring down his empire or will she give up revenge for love?

‘All About Eva’ was commissioned by Kildare County Council, to provide a hands-on experience for local writers, actors and crew to be involved in a large scale, high quality production. Much emphasis was placed on professional development, skills exchange and networking.

The film was written by Pauric Brennan, Joe Campbell, Mary Duffin, Richard Kearney and Zoe Palmer. Shot on location in Athy, May 2014, it was directed by Ferdia Mac Anna, produced by Lucina Russell and stars Sue Walsh, Liam Quinlivan and Jill Bradbury. It received its Irish premiere at the Jameson International Dublin Film Festival in March 2015.

Kildare County Council are establishing ‘Short Grass Films Kildare’, an umbrella entity to support film making in Co Kildare through commissioning new works, providing grant aid, support and assistance to film makers.

‘All about Eva’ was funded under the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government Per Cent for Art scheme for Srowland/ River Barrow Abstraction Scheme and produced by Kildare County Council.
