Film Mayo

Film Mayo: Mayo County Council

“I find Mayo a perfect fit. Perfect in the sense of the fierce solitude of the mesmeric landscape, the storm lashed skies burnt blue by the surprise of a mild day, and the majesty of the moment one finds in the contemplation of the creatures of the imagination nurtured in the challenge of a blank page. Scratch the surface in Mayo, and you’ll find the magic to go along with the hard work of art”, Anthony Foutz, Scriptwriter/Director.

Mayo has a natural beauty, stunning locations including huge areas of unspoilt landscape, plenty of amenities and a wide variety of potential locations.

Film Mayo is a one stop shop for those wishing to find information on filming (at all levels) in the county and includes areas such as a locations database, cast and crew database, filmography and a testimonial section from past productions. Film Mayo was formally launched on the 1st of December 2014 with Director Pat O’Connor (Ballroom of Romance) as guest of honour. The inaugural Film Mayo Network meeting preceeded the launch, followed by a panel Q&A/ Interview with Pat O’Connor, Writer/Director/Producer Mike Cockayne (Hardy Bucks), Producer Tim Palmer (Into the West) and Antony Foutz (Saturation 70) was chaired by Maeve Cooke (Access Cinema).
