Musical Memories Choirs: Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council
The “Musical Memories” choirs are for older people and are specifically welcoming to people affected by dementia and their family carers. They are led by a professional choral director and take place weekly in community settings in the county. The concept came from the “Unforgettables” in New York and “Musical Memories” have gained extensive media attention.
Burning Bright: Galway County Council
Burning Bright, first established in 2005, is a series of visual art residencies held in nursing homes throughout the County of Galway. The residencies are structured around art workshops, facilitated by professional artists who introduce participants to a selection of art materials and techniques and encourage them to experiment. The programme is designed so that each session is tailored to the needs and expectations of the individuals involved, allowing them to develop and explore their creativity at their own pace. The Burning Bright Project is a partnership project, which includes the following partners; The Arts Council, Galway County Council, Galway Arts Centre & Galway City Council.

St John’s Community Hospital Creative Programme: Sligo County Council
The Programme began in September 2012 and has developed, grown and changed over the years. From the very beginning we have worked closely with all the hospital staff from care staff to the coffee shop lady. The creative workshop structure is always changing, acclimatizing to the needs of the residents and the busy life of a working Community Hospital – Nursing Home.
